About this file

This is an Equipment Salient Characteristics document for a federal procurement by the Department of the Air Force, Headquarters 628th Air Base Wing (AMC), located at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina.

The procurement concerns equipment replacement under project designation DKFX 2026 – B731 and requires three primary pieces of equipment for Government installation. The Fluid Cooler specification calls for an adiabatic cooler (basis of design: Nimbus model VRGA022.0-EC-4) operating at 3-phase/60Hz/460V with a BacNet/MSTP unit controller compatible with the Trane Ensemble Base Energy Management Control System. The cooler must feature variable speed fans, air debris inlet screens, a NEMA 4X control panel, and achieve a minimum capacity of 1000 MBH/80 tons at listed conditions (95°F entering fluid temperature, 85°F exiting, with 20% propylene glycol fluid, 95°F dry bulb, and 80°F wet bulb). The maximum dimensions are 9 feet wide by 14 feet long by 10 feet high, with a minimum water flow rate of 200 GPM. The 6-ton Water Source Heat Pump (basis of design: Trane Axiom model GEVK0724) requires 460 volt/3-phase/60Hz power, copper heating and cooling refrigerant circuit with hot gas reheat, 2-speed fan assembly, top supply/back return air configuration, and Symbio 500 integrated controls. The 1.5-ton Water Source Heat Pump (basis of design: Trane Axiom model GECK0181) requires 208 volt/1-phase/60Hz power, cupro-nickel heating and cooling refrigerant circuit with hot gas reheat, wall-mount right-hand piping configuration, and Symbio 400B integrated controls.
