Statement of Work

VAULT TOILET PUMPING

Yosemite National Park

INTRODUCTION

Yosemite National Park requires a contractor to pump vault toilets from the Crane Flat area to the Tioga Pass Entrance Station on Hwy 120, inside Yosemite National Park.

BACKGROUND

The Utilities Branch services vault toilets and septic tanks throughout Yosemite National Park. The areas from Crane Flat to Tioga Pass Entrance Station require pumping for 56 vault toilets from contract award for a period of eight weeks, at which time the Tuolumne Wastewater Treatment Plant is expected to open, and volumes will drop to a level that NPS can manage.

TASKS

The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, and services needed to fulfill the requirement. The Contractor shall:

1. Pump vault toilets in Yosemite National Park, California, along Tioga Road from Crane Flat to Lee Vining. A map has been included to show the locations of the vault and septic locations to be serviced (Atch 02_Map_Tioga Rd Vault Toilet Locations) and the frequency of service by location (Atch 03_Schedule_Tioga Campground Vault Toilets).

1.1. Hose lengths need to reach each vault differ by location. Lengths of hose required are 20 feet to a maximum of 100 feet.

1.2. Suction hoses no larger than 2.5” must be used to avoid large un-grindable materials that when dumped may clog sewer lines at the El Portal Wastewater Treatment Facility.

2. Contractor shall be responsible to remove any trash items in the vaults; diapers, phones, sunglasses, etc. These items cannot be disposed of when dumping into NPS wastewater treatment facility, however, may be disposed of in trash bins located at each site.

3. The Contractor shall notify the NPS Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) of any circumstances of needed repair to the facilities or of any area that may affect performance of contract work, present hazardous, unsafe, or unhealthy conditions, or cause any delays or interference of work by employees of the contractor.

ALLOWANCES

Contractor may take waste to the El Portal Wastewater Treatment Facility (EPWWTF) and dispose of sewage collected solely from NPS owned structures. EPWWTF is located at 5083 Foresta Road, El Portal, CA 95318.

Contractor may dispose at EPWWTF during the week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday only, between the hours of 0700-1530.

Contractor shall be required to provide the pumping log to correlate with metered gallons disposed of at EPWWTF each time.
