About this file

This document is a Scope of Work for an Asphalt Repair project issued by the Ohio Department of Wildlife. The project involves asphalt repair work at two fishing access locations - Mazurik Fishing Access and Huron Fishing Access. The work includes grinding the existing asphalt to full depth, compacting the road base, and applying new 448-2 intermediate asphalt in the ground areas. The contractor will also need to apply an asphalt concrete band around all new asphalt where it meets the old asphalt. The project has a delivery date of June 30, 2025. A site visit is strongly recommended, and bidders should contact Mike Wilkerson at the Department of Wildlife to arrange a visit.

The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the low lot total, which will be determined by multiplying the unit cost by the estimated usage and adding the totals together. Failure to bid all items may result in the bidder being deemed not responsive. All invoices must be submitted directly to Ohio Shared Services. There are three options available to submit invoices - by email, fax, or mail.

Name or Title of the Service or Supply: Asphalt Repair

Ordering Division and address: Wildlife, 952 Lima Ave., Findlay OH 45840

Specifications:

This bid will encompass asphalt repair at two locations.

1. Mazurik Fishing Access (8957 E. Northshore Blvd., Marblehead OH) - 3 separate areas will need to be ground to full depth and then patched (depth is unknown). See Figure 1 below for the approximate locations.

2. Huron Fishing Access (3 Cleveland Rd. East, Huron OH) – The area in front of the concrete boat ramp will need to be ground to full depth and patched. This area is approximately 35 feet x 90 feet (figure 2). Damaged patches are interspersed in this area so it may be easier to apply the patch to the entire area.

General Specifications – Asphalt in target areas will be removed by grinding to depth and existing road base will be compacted to 100%. Then place and compact 448-2 intermediate asphalt in the ground areas. Apply an asphalt concrete band around all new asphalt where it meets with old asphalt.

Selected contractor will need to work with owner to determine the best times to do the work. These are busy areas (depending on weather) and ideally work will be performed during low use times or a plan developed to keep the areas partially open to use.

A site visit is strongly recommended. Contact Mike Wilkerson (419) 429-8375 to arrange a visit.

Delivery: Mike Wilkerson, 952 Lima Ave., Findlay OH 45840. Phone (419) 429-8375.
