About this file
This document is a Scope of Work for asbestos abatement and demolition services at the U.S. Coast Guard Facilities Paris Landing in Buchanan, Tennessee. The project requires the removal and abatement of approximately 1,100 square feet of asbestos-containing material (ACM) in linoleum floor and carpet adhesive (mastic), along with demolition of interior walls to open up the current office, training room, hallway, and entranceway into one large room. The contractor must be a Tennessee state-licensed asbestos contractor, conduct air monitoring after each phase, and ensure all building electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems remain fully functional after demolition.
Waste disposal is a critical component, with requirements for separating and disposing of all waste at state-approved landfills according to federal, state, and local regulations. The contractor must categorize asbestos-containing materials as friable, category I non-friable, or category II non-friable, and provide documentation including state-certified asbestos contractor licenses, required personal protective equipment lists, demolition notifications, waste characterization reports, and waste disposal manifests. The project is set aside for small businesses under NAICS code 562910 with a size standard of $25 million, and will result in a firm-fixed price construction contract awarded to the lowest-price technically acceptable offeror.
