About this file
This document is a draft specifications sheet for a 101-foot articulating aerial fire truck that the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) requires for fire protection at the Grand Coulee Power Office (GCPO) in Washington State. The apparatus must comply with NFPA standards (1901, 1902, 2016), DOT, and EPA requirements. Key specifications include a diesel turbocharged engine rated at 600 HP with 1,850 lb-ft torque, an automatic transmission with six forward gears and PTO capability, a single-stage midship-mounted fire pump delivering 2,250 GPM at 150 PSI, and a 300-gallon polypropylene water tank. The vehicle features a heavy-duty chassis with three parallel C-style rails of high-strength low alloy steel (minimum 110,000 PSI yield strength) with lifetime warranty on frame and cross members, tandem rear axles rated at 63,000 lbs, and dual HVAC systems rated for 48,000 BTU/hr heating and rapid cooling capability.
The truck must include a cab-over-engine style design with four doors and aluminum construction, comprehensive electrical systems including a 275-amp alternator and multiplex controls, LED lighting throughout (emergency warning, scene, task, and aerial lighting), an advanced 101-foot three-section articulating aerial device with 10.5-foot jib boom and self-leveling platform basket, EMS storage compartments, and complete documentation including CAD drawings, as-built wiring diagrams, operator and maintenance manuals with online access. The manufacturer must provide pre-delivery inspection at its facility, factory-trained specialist instruction at delivery (minimum three-day training at GCPO), all manuals in printed and electronic format, and comprehensive testing and certification by Underwriters Laboratories. The specifications mandate hot-dip galvanization for corrosion protection, comprehensive warranty coverage, and compliance with FMVSS, SAE, and NFPA safety standards throughout all systems and components.
