About this file
This document is an email exchange regarding the buyout pricing for Aramark's contract with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Aramark is offering two options to DNR to handle the transition at the end of their contract: 1) Aramark will schedule inventory pick-up days across the state to recover and reconcile inventories, billing DNR for any missing or ruined garments at $12 per pant and $10 per shirt, noting that 20-50% of inventory is typically not returned or ruined during transitions of this size; or 2) Aramark will sell all garment items in service to DNR at a discounted rate of $4.00 each, for a total of $38,868, which would provide DNR employees with full garment inventories that they could deduct from their first pant allotment.
Aramark is proposing to work with DNR to schedule a follow-up call on either June 1st or June 2nd to further discuss these options and determine the best path forward. The email suggests that this approach would save time and resources for both Aramark and DNR, while ensuring a smooth transition at the end of the contract.

Thanks for this follow up info Brad. We definitely won’t be able to meet Tuesday in that timeframe due to a Regional call we already have set up during that time. Wed – Ryan and I will be on the road, but we could possibly call in during our windshield time at about 9am. Would that work? If so, I’ll have Dave Berry or Jodi, open up our call in line and we can all call in to 217-558-2644 at 9am Wednesday.
Let me know if that works.
Thanks, Von Bandy

Subject: [External] RE: Aramark Conference Call - Follow-up
Good Morning, Following up from our call on Monday, Phil and I reviewed with our leadership this week. Here are the options that we can provide:
1. We can schedule inventory pick-up days at across the state to recover and reconcile inventories and bill accordingly for any missing or ruined garments at the contracted rate of $12 per pant and $10 per pant.
We would need a representative from DNR available at time of pick-up the week of July 19-July 23.
As discussed, we have no way of forecasting this actual final transition cost, on transitions of this size it is not uncommon to see 20-50% of the inventory not returned or ruined at time of collection.
2. We can sell DNR all garment items in service at a discounted rate of $4.00 each (this is for all inventory, not partial) for a total of 9717 x $4 = $38,868.
We would be willing to work with you on the billing of a final purchase between June and July if this helps with your annual budgets at end of/beginning of FY.
This would be a savings on time and resources for both DNR and Aramark and give your employees full inventories of garments. You could then deduct the per man of roughly $120 per wearer from their 1st pant allotment. ($38,868/325 employees = $119.59)
Please let us know if you would like to set-up a follow-up call to discuss further. I am available Tuesday 6/1 from 8-10am
CDT or pretty flexible Wednesday 6/2. Or we could set up for the following week.
Thanks and have a great holiday weekend, Brad
