Appendix%207.5%202026%20TN%20Zip%20Code%20Enrollment%20Counts.xlsx

This file is a data appendix containing 2026 Tennessee ZIP code enrollment counts for the State's Public Sector Health Plans, segmented by county, member type (active, child, retiree, spouse), and geographic classification (rural, suburban, urban). The spreadsheet presents two primary datasets: "ZipAndCountyGeocoded," which allocates enrollment across multiple counties within individual ZIP codes, and "ZipOnlyGeocoded," which aggregates enrollment by ZIP code alone. The data encompasses all 95 Tennessee counties across the state's three geographic regions, with total enrollment of 299,664 members distributed across 1,058 unique ZIP code entries. Member categories include active employees, children, retirees, and spouses, with active members representing the largest enrollment segment. The geographic classifications indicate concentration of enrollment in suburban and urban areas, particularly in Davidson County (Nashville metropolitan area), Knox County (Knoxville area), Shelby County (Memphis area), and Rutherford County (Murfreesboro area), though substantial rural enrollment exists throughout the state.

The enrollment data serves as a foundational reference for Third Party Administrator (TPA) services procurement and network adequacy assessments for the state's public sector health plans. The dual-dataset structure accommodates different analytical approaches: the county-geocoded version enables granular geographic and demographic analysis at the sub-ZIP code level, while the ZIP code-only version provides simplified regional planning data. No specific pricing, contract terms, award dates, or procurement timelines are contained within this appendix. The data reflects the geographic and demographic distribution essential for evaluating TPA service delivery capabilities, provider network adequacy, and care access across Tennessee's diverse urban, suburban, and rural populations. This information would be utilized by state procurement officials and potential bidders to assess operational scope, resource allocation requirements, and geographic service delivery considerations for statewide TPA services.
