About this file
This document is Appendix E of the Title VI Assurances issued under US DOT Order 1050.2A, detailing nondiscrimination statutes and authorities that contractors must comply with during contract performance. The document comprehensively lists multiple federal laws and executive orders prohibiting discrimination on various bases, including race, color, national origin, sex, disability, and age, across different programs, activities, and contexts such as transportation, public accommodations, education, and environmental justice.
The assurances cover a broad range of protective measures, including provisions from the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination Act, and specific executive orders addressing environmental justice and language access. Contractors are required to take reasonable steps to ensure meaningful access for persons with limited English proficiency and avoid discriminatory practices in all federally funded or federally-assisted programs, whether fully funded by federal sources or not. The document serves as a legal framework to ensure equal treatment and access across diverse populations in government-related contracts and programs.
