About this file

The document is an Ichat Information packet from Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) related to the Allen Elementary Boiler Replacement project (IFB 26.0001). The packet provides detailed guidelines for contractors requiring background checks to work on AAPS property, specifically outlining the requirements for completing the Michigan State Police Internet Criminal History Access Tool (I-CHAT) form. Key requirements include using only forms dated 5/2021 or later, submitting a color copy of government-issued identification, completing the form in its entirety with legal name, and providing an original signature.

The background check process is mandatory for all contractors and is designed to ensure the safety of students, staff, volunteers, and guests in AAPS buildings. Contractors must disclose any criminal convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas, and understand that failure to do so may result in being prohibited from working on AAPS property. The form requires demographic information, ethnicity, and a declaration of criminal history. Once completed, the form is submitted to an AAPS contact for processing and review through the Michigan Department of State Police's Central Records Division.
