About this file
This document is a Lift Station S29 Telemetry Scope of Work issued by Brevard County Utility Services Department for a comprehensive telecommunications and infrastructure upgrade project. The scope of work details the demolition of existing equipment and the installation of a new Emerson ControlWave Micro Radio Telemetry Unit (RTU) system, including a ROHN 45G Tower, various technical components like an Aprisa Radio, Yagi Antenna, Radar Level Sensor, and associated wiring and conduit infrastructure. The project requires precise installation of specific equipment, including 12VDC battery, cable connectors, grounding kits, and weatherproofing materials, with detailed specifications for conduit types, wire gauges, and connection methods.
The document provides extensive technical specifications for wiring between the RTU and electrical control panel, including precise requirements for digital inputs, digital outputs, analog inputs, and power connections. The installation must follow Brevard County Utility Services' current electrical standards, with specific instructions for cable routing, connection methods, and documentation. The contractor is responsible for physical installation, while Brevard County personnel will handle RTU and radio configuration for communication with the host system. The scope includes provisions for future expansion, with specifications for spare wire pairs and careful cable management to facilitate potential future modifications.

1.) Install the antenna with ½” heliax cable as shown. The antenna must be mounted vertically polarized (Elements pointed in the up / down position). Align the antenna roughly in the direction of the receiving node. Final alignment may be necessary by the contractor at start up based on the receive signal strength.
Install the heliax cable to the mast using the 316 SS straps and cable hanging kits at approximately 30-inch intervals. All connections on the antenna, grounding kits, and RTU shall be wrapped first with electrical tape then vapor wrap and then electrical tape over the vapor wrap to ensure water tight seals.
Connect the signal wires from the electrical panel to the RTU in accordance with the wiring diagram provided. All wiring in the electrical panel and RTU panel shall be neatly formed, grouped, laced, and identified with proper signal markings to provide a neat and orderly appearance.
Install Myers Hubs on both ends of the 2-inch and 1-inch RTU conduits.
Re-use Existing 1” @ 2” holes in Electrical Control Panel for new RTU conduits.
When the installation is accepted, Owner’s personnel will be responsible for configuring the RTU and radio for communication with the host system. Follow the established inspection procedures of the Owner. The following address and phone number may be used to communicate with Emerson Process Management directly:
