About this file

The document is a Telemetry Scope of Work for Lift Station B18, prepared for Brevard County Utility Services Department, detailing a comprehensive technical specification for demolition and installation of a new telemetry system. The scope of work includes removing the existing Emerson Control Wave Micro RTU, demolishing the existing telemetry tower and concrete base, and installing a new ROHN 45G Tower with specific equipment such as an Emerson Process Management Standard BCUS Control Wave Micro RTU Panel, 4RF Aprisa Radio, 12VDC battery, Yagi antenna, VEGA Radar Level Sensor, and associated cabling and conduit infrastructure.

The project requires precise technical installation procedures, including specific wiring configurations between the RTU and control panel using schedule 80 PVC conduits, detailed wire type and color specifications, and precise mounting and grounding requirements. The contractor must follow Brevard County Utility Services' current electrical standards, ensure water-tight connections, and maintain a neat and orderly installation. Upon completion, the county's personnel will configure the RTU and radio for communication with the host system. The scope of work provides extensive technical details for a standardized telemetry system upgrade, with specific instructions for equipment installation, wiring, and connection protocols.

1.) Install the antenna with ½” heliax cable as shown. The antenna must be mounted vertically polarized (Elements pointed in the up / down position). Align the antenna roughly in the direction of the receiving node. Final alignment may be necessary by the contractor at start up based on the receive signal strength.

Install the heliax cable to the mast using the 316 SS straps and cable hanging kits at approximately 30-inch intervals. All connections on the antenna, grounding kits, and RTU shall be wrapped first with electrical tape then vapor wrap and then electrical tape over the vapor wrap to ensure water tight seals.

Connect the signal wires from the electrical panel to the RTU in accordance with the wiring diagram provided. All wiring in the electrical panel and RTU panel shall be neatly formed, grouped, laced, and identified with proper signal markings to provide a neat and orderly appearance.

Install Myers Hubs on both ends of the 2-inch and 1-inch RTU conduits.

When the installation is accepted, Owner’s personnel will be responsible for configuring the RTU and radio for communication with the host system. Follow the established inspection procedures of the Owner. The following address and phone number may be used to communicate with Emerson Process Management directly:
