Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), OH 45433-5755.
1.1.2 Mission
The Automated Project Order (APO) system, designated as J025A, electronically processes Air Force
Materiel Command (AFMC) Project Orders for the Air Logistics Complexes (ALCs).
1.1.3 Background
APO automates the AFMC Project Order process (AFMC Form 181). It establishes Cost Authority (CA) and is utilized by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) to validate fund availability to obligate Depot Purchased Equipment Maintenance (DPEM) appropriated funds. The system ensures financial integrity by verifying that sufficient budgetary authority and customer funding are available before work is accepted at the ALCs.
APO interfaces with the Base Level General Accounting and Finance System (GAFS/BQ) to signal authorized users to commit and obligate funds and secures confirmations from the executing financial systems. It also interfaces with the Defense Industrial Financial Management System (DIFMS), the Job
Order Production Master System (G004L/JOPMS), and the Execution and Prioritization of Repairs
Support System (D087X/EXPRESS). APO provides web-based data access to approximately 400 authorized users at HQ AFMC, the ALCs, the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group
(AMARG), and DFAS operating locations.
1.1.4 Operating Environment
APO resides on an IBM mainframe hosted at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Defense
