Prior to installation of the Apollo Poles, General Contractor needs to install 1 ea. 3’ x 3’ x 16‐gauge (2’ x 2’ minimum) steel plate to the ceiling flutes in the sub floor for each pole to be installed.

3’ x 3’ x 16‐gauge steel plates to be centered above each pole

Ensure that fire proof coating will not be applied to the plate so the Apollo mounting bracket can be installed into the steel plate without an issue.

If there is an obstruction (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, etc. ) between the drop ceiling and the sub‐floor above, the architect must design—and GC must install—a trapezed steel plate around the obstruction in order to mount the top of the Apollo Pole to. This is most often the case.

3’ x 3’ x 16 Ga. Mounting Plate for Top Connection:

Electrical and Data needs to be called out for the external Power and Data, to be installed by the Data and Electrical Contractor hired by Kaiser.

Data and Electrical are mounted to the narrow side of the pole. Each Box is bolted to the side of the Apollo Pole with bolts and nuts provided with Apollo Pole. Subsequent to installation of the poles, the electrician will drill a hole at desired height A.F.F. and pull the data and electrical through each box.

CPU holder (if required) to be set 11.5” from the floor. Set electrical at 18” to center of box and the Data box just above the Electrical box.

Mounting Nuts: Electrical / Data Boxes: Electrician’s Work:

If an Emergency call switch is required, GC is required to advise the company responsible for installing the emergency switch to install it 49” from the floor to the top of the switch on the narrow side of the pole.

Two holes 9 x 32 x 2.5” need to be drilled into the side of the extrusion to mount the switch as seen below:

Apollo Pole Layout:

Clearance between Apollo Pole and Chaparral stations should be 9” to 11” face‐to‐face.

This will allow for the CPU Holder and for trash clearance (see plan views below).

If poles are to be single sided, offset the Apollo pole 9” to the right or left of center (see plan view below).

If poles are to be double sided, Center the Apollo pole on the Chaparral station.
