About this file
This document is an Answers to Questions addendum issued by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for Request for Bid Amendment #1 (KK22-03-O) concerning the procurement of conference room furniture. The project involves the supply and delivery of conference tables, a lectern, and wardrobe units to Chapman Hall, with specifications for Nucraft brand furniture including Flow Credenza, Coat Cabinets, Approach Table, and High Tech Lectern. The original bid was issued on November 30, 2021, with a due date of December 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Central Time. No prebid meeting is required. The contract term is one year, and vendors must use Amendment #1 when submitting bids to avoid proposal rejection.
Pricing is firm on the net total of the price sheet for 180 days after contract execution, with vendors responsible for accounting for potential market volatility and supply chain disruptions during the contract period. No special labor requirements or union/prevailing wage obligations apply to this project. Delivery to Chapman Hall requires no loading dock; vendors must transport furniture by truck and manually carry or push items approximately less than 50 yards to the building's rear or front double doors. Alternatives to specified finishes will be evaluated based on correct size, functionality, style, and aesthetic appeal, subject to end-user approval. Final selections for wood veneer, stone, laminate, edge styles, and power/data options remain to be determined (TBD) and are referenced in Amendment #1 Section 6.1.

The purpose of this document is to answer questions received from Vendors and notify Vendors of changes made to the specifications in amended rfb KK22-03-O. Failure to use amended RFB KK22-03-O may result in rejection of the proposal. All requirements of the bid documents remain unchanged except as cited herein.
Information contained in this document will be included in any subsequent contractual agreement between the University and the successful bidder.
1. Is there a pre‐bid meeting that we’re required to attend? No
2. Has someone checked the dimensions of the hallways and entry ways to the space so that the tables can be brought in to the space? It is likely the tables come fully or partially assembled and need a wide enough clearance to be brought in the space.
This shouldn’t be a problem because there is a double doorway and the stairwell is open to the second floor.
3. Does this project require special labor – union or prevailing wage? No.
4. Item 3.3 states that this contract is for 1 year. This is repeated in 5.1 ‘Firm Prices’.
Does this mean UWM is asking for pricing to be held for 1 year? Supply chain disruptions have caused meaningful price increases and manufacturers are passing this cost to the end‐user in the form of either increased LIST prices or surcharges or both. How does UWM handle this type of market volatility and the potential for price increases which are difficult to predict in the next year? 5.1 is amended to firm prices on Net total of Price Sheet (Attachment C) and 180 days after contract is signed.
5. Does the building (Chapman Hall) have a loading dock or should we plan to use a truck with a liftgate? If this is street or parking lot parking, what is an estimated ‘push’ yardage from parking to Chapmall Hall? Less than 50 yards or greater? No loading dock. Will need to take it off the truck and carry or push to the double door around the back (or front) to the double door. The distance is less than 50 yards.
6. How do you evaluate alternates? Alternatives will be reviewed for the correct size and functionality, the style and aesthetic and if necessary will need to be approved by the end user. Can you please provide the base line finishes you’re considering for: Mid‐range finish pricing on all pieces as described below but the final selection is TBD
