About this file
This document is a memorandum from Jen Hurlebaus, the Capital Planning Engineer at the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District, providing answers to questions received by the July 10th deadline for the Pumping Station 10 Force Main Condition Assessment Project. The project requests proposals for assessing the condition of the force main at Pumping Station 10. The memorandum addresses specific questions related to the availability of additional drawings/schematics, the maximum water level in the wet well to facilitate tool insertion, and the lack of pressure data for the pumping station.
The related state and local contract opportunity provides additional details, stating that the Request for Proposal and other documents are available on the district's website. Proposals will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. CST on Friday, July 19, 2024 via email to Jen Hurlebaus. The project is located in Dane County and the City of Madison, Wisconsin. Questions should be directed to Jen Hurlebaus, and no verbal statements from district employees will be considered binding.

Subject: Answers to Questions received by July 10th Deadline Pumping Station 10 Force Main Condition Assessment Project
The following questions were asked by the July 10th deadline but after the previous two Q&As dated July 3 and July 10.
Question 1: Do you have any more drawings/schematics of the inside of the building?
Answer: The record drawings we have for Pumping Station 10 were provided as Attachment 11 (original station construction) and Attachment 12 (rehabilitation project). We do not have any additional drawings or schematics of the inside of the building.
Question 2: Please confirm the higher water level in the wet well that can be sustained to facilitate tool insertion utilizing by-pass pumping?
Answer: Assume that the high level alarm elevation can not be exceeded. The high level alarm occurs at an elevation of -5 ft (City of Madison vertical datum) or a depth of 15 ft in the wet well.
Question 3: Please provide pressure readings/data at the pump station (individual pumps and/or header piping)?
Answer: We do not have a pressure sensor on the PS10 force main discharge pipe or the individual pumps so unfortunately I can't provide much data. I did find data for testing on Pump 10B from 2008 that I can provide (email jenh@madsewer.org to request this data).
