About this file
This document is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the County of Orange Probation Department for Ammunition and Related Supplies, specifically soliciting competitive bids for the purchase and delivery of ammunition. The IFB (No. IFB-057-2741801-JI) seeks to establish a contract with a qualified vendor to supply various Winchester ammunition types, including 9mm, 12 gauge, .38 Special, and 5.56 mm rounds. The solicitation is fully electronic, with bids to be submitted through the County's online bidding system by March 26, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Contractors must have a business within 25 miles of the Orange County Probation Department, possess necessary permits and licenses, and have a minimum of three years of experience providing ammunition and related supplies.
The bid requires contractors to provide new ammunition in bulk packaging (minimum 500 rounds per case or standard 50-round boxes with 10 boxes per case), with specific requirements for product quality, replacement of incorrect items, and inventory availability. The County will award the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, with potential preferences given to Local Small Businesses (OCLSB) and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) certified by the California Department of General Services. Contractors must complete various background clearance and certification processes, including FBI Criminal Justice Information Services Security Addendum and Prison Rape Elimination Act forms. The contract terms include strict personnel requirements, background investigations, and facility clearance procedures for employees working with the Probation Department.
