About this file

This document is an amendment to a bid solicitation issued by the Illinois Department of Central Management Services for JPMC Batteries, Automotive. The bid has been amended to clarify the regional delivery requirements, with vendors required to ship to any location within the defined Northern, Central, or Southern regions of Illinois. The minimum order quantity is 20 batteries, with any orders under 20 requiring the vendor to prepay freight charges and add them as a separate line item on the invoice. The bid originally ID'd was 20-416CMS-BOSS4-B-8682.

Regarding pricing, the amendment states that if batteries can be shipped in pallet quantities, shipping may be considered free and included in the price. However, if orders are in smaller quantities to multiple destinations, the vendor should reflect those additional costs in their pricing. No other details on pricing, set-asides, incumbents, funding sources, or contract term are provided.

Question 2: If so and if batteries could be shipped to those destinations in pallet amounts (mixed pallets are OK) shipping could be considered free and included in the price. If orders for the batteries are in small amounts and to many destinations bidding becomes more complicated. Cost would need to reflect that process.

2. Please refer to section 1.5 Transportation and Delivery, subsection 1.5.4 Minimum Orders:

The minimum order delivered F.O.B. destination, shall be 20 batteries. For orders less than 20 batteries, the vendor shall prepay freight charges and add the differences of such freight charges to the invoice as a separate line item. The vendor will include a copy of the freight bill for verification of the charges.
