About this file

This is Amendment #2 to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the purchase of an automated vehicle for research purposes. The RFP (Event Number 2023-UWMSN-00297-RFP) seeks responses to questions raised by bidders regarding project specifications and requirements. A critical specification clarified in the amendment is that the requested vehicle must be equipped with a steering wheel and pedals to accommodate a safety operator who will occupy the driver's seat and retain the ability to take manual control of the vehicle when necessary. The amendment explicitly states that fully autonomous vehicles without steering wheel and pedal controls are not acceptable for this research project. Bidders must submit responses online through the University of Wisconsin's procurement portal at https://bids.sciquest.com/apps/Router/PublicEvent?CustomerOrg=UWisconsin, with inquiries directed to Mike Marean at mike.marean@wisc.edu.

The budget range for this automated vehicle procurement is established at $200,000 to $350,000. This amendment serves as clarification documentation for the ongoing RFP process and provides guidance to prospective bidders regarding vehicle specifications and manual control requirements essential to the research objectives of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
