About this file

This is Amendment No. 1 to an Invitation for Bid issued by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety for the Venture Project (PKA-16-767). The amendment provides clarifications and modifications to the original bid documents for work at the Venture Project site. Key project components include constructing sediment traps with eight-foot PVC pipe outlets, establishing access routes into Little Frying Pan Gulch with provisions for road removal upon project completion, containing and hauling grubbed material for offsite disposal, excavating and compacting waste pile removal areas with stream channel reestablishment, conducting a pre-excavation topographic volume survey, and revegetation work. The bid submittal deadline is Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. A pre-bid meeting was held prior to the amendment issuance. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the amendment on the bid form and submit the original, unmodified Bid Schedule with their proposals.

The amendment revises specific technical requirements and project scope items without modifying the overall bid schedule or pricing structure. Notable changes include reducing the revegetation fertilizer requirement from 3,000 pounds to 2,500 pounds of Biosol fertilizer or approved equivalent, clarifying that Pile #5 may serve as the access point into Little Frying Pan Gulch with associated road removal costs to be included in Item 4.0, and specifying that grubbed material must be hauled away for offsite disposal rather than buried onsite. Stream channel configuration work will be directed by the project manager. All other terms and conditions of the original Invitation for Bid remain in effect unless modified by this amendment.

RE: Amendment No. 1 to PKA-16-767

Thank you for your attendance at the Pre-Bid Meeting. The bid submittal deadline for this project is Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 4:00. If you are not going to bid on this project, please submit a “no-bid.” The following clarifications and amendments should be noted and incorporated into the bid documents:

1. Item 3.2: Sediment Traps – If required, the minimum length of ten (10) inch PVC pipe required to properly construct the outlet drain shall be eight (8) feet per sediment trap.

2. Item 4.0: Establish Access Routes – Pile #5 may be used to ramp into Little Frying Pan Gulch. All access roads constructed into Little Frying Pan Gulch will be removed at the conclusion of the project work. Please include the cost for removing roads in Item 4.0.

3. Item 5.0: Grub Containment Cell – Grubbed material will be hauled away for proper offsite disposal. Burial of stumps is not permitted onsite.

4. Item 6.0: Excavate, Haul and Compact – Once waste piles have been removed from Little Frying Pan Gulch, a minor amount of excavation will be required to reestablish or relocate the stream channel. Channel configuration will be under the direction of the PROJECT

MANAGER.

5. Item 6.1: Topographic Volume Survey – The pre-excavation survey shall be submitted to the PROJECT MANAGER for review prior to commencing removal activities.

6. Item 10.0: Revegetation – A total of two thousand five hundred (2,500) pounds of Biosol fertilizer or approved equivalent will be required. This is revised from 3,000 pounds.

7. No changes were made to the Bid Schedule. Please use the original Bid Schedule provided with the bid document when submitting a bid.

All terms and conditions of the Invitation for Bid other than as changed by this amendment remain the same.

Receipt and acceptance of this amendment shall be acknowledged on the bid form and by submitting the revised Bid Schedule.
