About this file
This is Amendment 1 to a bid response document issued by the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) for Bid #26-426DOC-FOXVA-R-317309 regarding combination locks with key override functionality. The amendment addresses vendor questions submitted during the bidding process and clarifies agency requirements for the procurement.
The amendment clarifies that the IDOC is not requiring keys to be included with the combination locks, despite language in the bid description that may have suggested otherwise. A vendor specifically inquired whether keys must be provided with each lock unit, noting that the specified lock (PN: 1525) is typically sold separately from its corresponding key (PN: 1525K). The agency confirmed that keys are not a required component of this procurement, allowing vendors flexibility in their pricing and delivery of lock units only.

IDOC – Combination Locks w Key Override Bid # 26-426DOC-FOXVA- R-317309 Amendment #1 Response to Vendor’s Questions
1. Vendor: Are you requiring the key be included for each lock? The description seems to indicate as much but I want to be sure. Usually, the lock (PN: 1525) is sold separately from the key (PN: 1525K).
Agency Response: We are not requiring keys to be included with the locks.
