Conditions: Clarification on bid specifications

Q. The specifications indicate that Larned Facility Personnel will be responsible for part of the installation. Is this a vendor install or facility install?

A. The job at Larned for the Energy Management system control will have the awarded vendor install parts. One will be the front-end software that will have to go on a virtual server, then they will have to install a control head that will communicate with the server via ethernet and then that head unit will connect to all the sub panels at each of the mechanical areas, which will have specific controls connected to devices in the room and thermostats.

Residents and Larned maintenance staff will assist by run the twisted pair wiring and ethernet wiring to all the control boxes and to the devices. Together the awarded vendor and the staff will remove and install new devices at all the control points throughout the mechanical rooms and buildings to control what HVAC systems need to be control by the head unit. The vendor will be responsible for any labor that requires proper licensing. Larned Maintenance and residents will not conduct any labor that may interfere or invalidate product warranty.
