About this file
Amendment 1 is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) #5400027991 issued by the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) for on-call fence repair services in Charleston County. The solicitation seeks a qualified contractor to perform comprehensive fence repairs on SCDOT Rights-of-Way, with specifications covering various fence types including woven wire, chain link, and security fencing. The bid is scheduled for submission by April 1, 2025, at 2:30 PM, with the award to be posted on April 10, 2025. The anticipated contract term is from April 22, 2025, to April 21, 2027, with an automatic one-year renewal option. The scope includes approximately 6 mobilizations and multiple linear foot requirements for different fence types and repair services.
The procurement is exempt under SC Code 11-35-710(1) and does not include specific set-aside designations. Contractors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage, including $1,000,000 Commercial General Liability and Auto Liability, and Worker's Compensation as required by state law. The contract requires contractors to commence work within 14 days of written notification, with a $50 per day deduction for delays. All traffic control costs must be incorporated into installation/repair pricing. Bidders must submit their offer online through the South Carolina procurement website, with questions having been required to be submitted by March 12, 2025. The solicitation allows for virtual bid opening attendance and provides detailed technical specifications for fence repair and installation services.
