SCSU Facilities Uniform Rental - Amendment 1
This is an amendment to a state and local contract opportunity for South Carolina State University (SCSU) Facilities Uniform Rental services. The amendment modifies the terms of the original contract for the rental and maintenance of uniforms for SCSU facilities personnel. The document outlines changes to the existing contract requirements, specifications, or terms previously established in the base solicitation. The amendment applies to the ongoing uniform rental program that supports SCSU's facilities department operations.
The specific details regarding pricing adjustments, service modifications, renewal terms, or other contractual changes contained within Amendment 1 should be reviewed in conjunction with the original contract solicitation to understand the complete scope of amendments and their impact on bidder obligations, pricing structures, and contract performance requirements for the uniform rental services at SCSU.

PREFERENCES - A NOTICE TO VENDORS (SEP. 2009): On June 16, 2009, the South Carolina General Assembly rewrote the law governing preferences available to in-state vendors, vendors using in-state subcontractors, and vendors selling in-state or US end products. This law appears in Section 11-35-1524 of the South Carolina Code of Laws. A summary of the new preferences is available at www.procurement.sc.gov/preferences . ALL THE PREFERENCES MUST BE CLAIMED AND ARE APPLIED BY LINE
ITEM, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER AWARD IS MADE BY ITEM OR LOT. VENDORS ARE CAUTIONED TO
CAREFULLY REVIEW THE STATUTE BEFORE CLAIMING ANY PREFERENCES. THE REQUIREMENTS TO
QUALIFY HAVE CHANGED. IF YOU REQUEST A PREFERENCE, YOU ARE CERTIFYING THAT YOUR OFFER
QUALIFIES FOR THE PREFERENCE YOU'VE CLAIMED. IMPROPERLY REQUESTING A PREFERENCE CAN HAVE
SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES. [11-35-1524(E)(4)&(6)]
PREFERENCES - ADDRESS AND PHONE OF IN-STATE OFFICE: Please provide the address and phone number for your in-state office in the space provided below. An in-state office is necessary to claim either the Resident Vendor Preference (11-35-
1524(C)(1)(i)&(ii)) or the Resident Contractor Preference (11-35-1524(C)(1)(iii)). Accordingly, you must provide this information to qualify for the preference. An in-state office is not required, but can be beneficial, if you are claiming the Resident Subcontractor
Preference (11-35-1524(D)).

Stricken text is deleted. [02-2A097-1]
Answers to Bidder Questions
1. On page 5, terms are for 12 months only. Can that be extended in any way?
No; Page 5
2. On page 22 section 3-E and page 31 1-C, regarding lost or unreturned garment these two sections contradict themselves. Is SCSU responsible for paying for unreturned items at any time with the proper documentation from the vendor? Or is the Vendor not able to bill for unreturned garments?
SCSU administrative designees shall notify the Contractor of employees who no longer require uniforms. SCSU shall be responsible for unreturned uniforms associated with such individuals unless otherwise determined by mutual agreement; Page 22
