About this file
This is Amendment #1 to an Invitation for Bid issued by the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) for on-call tree removal services in Kershaw County. The solicitation seeks contractor services for tree removal operations, with the contract allowing flexibility in removal methods based on tree diameter, height, and surrounding obstacles; contractors are responsible for determining the safest and most effective removal approach for each situation. The bid submission deadline is May 25, 2021, at 2:30 PM, with questions from offerors required to be received by May 18, 2021, at 12:00 PM. No pre-bid conference or site visit is specified in the amendment. The award is scheduled to be posted on June 9, 2021, on the South Carolina procurement website. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment and submit signed offers online through www.procurement.sc.gov, with offers held open for a minimum of thirty calendar days after the opening date.
The amendment does not specify pricing terms, contract duration, or renewal options in the excerpted content. Vendors must register with the State of South Carolina to obtain a vendor number and may be any type of business entity including sole proprietorships, partnerships, or corporate entities. The Procurement Officer is Latricia Trapp, reachable at 803-737-8380 or TrappLA@scdot.org, with the SCDOT Procurement Office located at 955 Park Street, Columbia, SC 29201. QUESTIONS FROM OFFERORS - AMENDMENT (JUN 2017)
Information or changes resulting from questions will be shown in a question-and-answer format. All questions received have been reprinted below. The “state’s response” should be read without reference to the questions. The questions are included solely to provide a cross-reference to the potential offeror that submitted the question. Questions do not form a part of the contract; the “state’s response” does. Any restatement of part or all of an existing provision of the solicitation in an answer does not modify the original provision except as follows: underlined text is added to the original provision.
Stricken text is deleted. [02-2A097-1]
Q-1 So on a diameter you obviously have different heights and like over objects do we get a range or is it just this tree is this much? An 18 inch tree can either be dropped or you have to climb it or use a bucket truck a tree can take 15 minutes or 3 hours.
A-1 The means of taking a tree “down” is not dictated by the contract- the contractor is responsible for deciding what the safest and most effective way will be.
