About this file
This is Amendment #1 to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the State of South Carolina's Division of Procurement Services on behalf of Horry Georgetown Technical College for the one-time purchase of Equipment for a Mechatronics Lab. The solicitation encompasses an Automated Cell system with integrated training modules that must be compatible with existing Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLCs (quantity 8), a KUKA KR Agilus six-family robot (quantity 1), and Fanuc Robot systems currently in use at the institution. The equipment must include distinct training modules covering Electric Control AC/DC Systems with VFD, PLC, 3-Phase Motor, and Soldering; Electric Systems with Prony Brake; OSHA safety training capacity; Hydraulics Systems; Pneumatics Systems; Mechanical Drives with coupling, sprocket, belt and chain packages plus laser alignment and vibration analysis; and Process Flow control for level and flow applications. The original opening date was revised to April 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM, with offer submissions required online through the state procurement portal. The award date is scheduled for May 9, 2019. Questions from offerors must be received by April 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM. The contract period is for one year with an optional four additional one-year renewals, and includes warranty and maintenance provisions.
The solicitation requires offerors to provide comprehensive documentation in printable PDF format, including a User Manual, Practice Activities Manual, and complete Teachers Guide, along with curriculum in online multimedia formats. Pre-training for faculty is to be conducted at the manufacturer's site thirty days prior to installation, with additional on-site training immediately following equipment installation. Proposal submissions may be uploaded in PDF or Word format through the online portal. The amendment clarifies that each listed component represents a separate training module rather than integrated components within a single automated cell, and that soldering system training falls under electrical wiring and VFD/PLC wiring instruction. Extended warranty coverage through five years should be quoted as an option in the bid submission. The procurement officer is Faith Williams, and no pre-bid conference or site visit is required for this solicitation.
