About this file
This is Amendment 1 to RFP 2025-UWMSN-00785 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison for Back Up Infant-Preschool age Child Care Services. The RFP seeks providers for backup childcare services primarily for university students, with limited availability for employees. The service requires providers to accommodate care needs during business hours Monday-Friday as well as potentially weekends, holidays and extended hours. The university is not seeking to prepay for spots but rather wants care available on an as-needed basis, with a preference for locations in close proximity to the university campus.
The reimbursement rate to selected vendors is up to $20 per hour, which is the current rate being paid. The School of Medicine may pay up to $75,000 for priority bookings above the 10 spaces referenced in the RFP. The service follows Wisconsin State Child Care Licensing standards for age groupings and care requirements. Currently only one location participates as a provider, and there is no guaranteed minimum number of hours or spaces that will be purchased. Vendors must submit detailed pricing through an Itemized Bid List upload, even though the system will show $0.00 as the bid amount.
