About this file

This document is an amendment to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the University of Wisconsin-Madison for Back Up Infant - Preschool age Child Care Services. The RFP is seeking vendors to provide backup childcare services for UW-affiliated families, including students, employees, and interns. The RFP specifies up to 10 backup care spots, with 8 for infants/toddlers and 2 for preschoolers, as needed. Vendors are asked to provide details on any childcare centers within close proximity to the university campus that can provide these services. The RFP also includes questions and answers related to the scope of services, reimbursement rates, billing logistics, and program utilization. Vendors must submit their bids online through the ShopUW+ platform, and the RFP does not specify an award date or contract term.

The amendment clarifies that the backup care services are primarily intended for students, with limited funds available for university employees. It also notes that there are no guaranteed or pre-paid spots, and the services will be billed on an as-needed basis at a rate of up to $20 per hour. The amendment also mentions that the School of Medicine may pay up to $75,000 for priority bookings over and above the 10 spots specified in the RFP.
