About this file

This is an amendment to a technical specification document for electric door operators issued by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) for the FY27 Cuba Maintenance Building Overhead Door Replacement Project. The project involves replacement of thirteen 12'x12' sectional overhead doors at MoDOT's Cuba Maintenance Facility. The specification requires bidders to supply and install upward-acting jackshaft side-mount electric door operators meeting specific technical requirements, including 115/230V single-phase motors with automatic reset thermal overload, heavy-duty reversing contactors, adjustable limit switches, 24-volt control circuits with three-button NEMA 1 enclosures, and dual photocell systems positioned at 6 inches and 32 inches above finished floor. Additional requirements include heavy-duty galvanized track, solenoid-actuated drum brakes, adjustable friction clutches, emergency operation provisions with chain hoists, cable safety stop devices, and one-button remotes for each garage door opener. All interior low-voltage wiring must be installed in electrical metallic tubing with screw coupling fittings. Contractors must submit product data, materials lists, manufacturers' specifications, and shop drawings within 30 calendar days of receiving the Notice to Proceed. Site visit attendance is mandatory for bids to be accepted, and bidders must contact buyer Logan Wilbers at logan.wilbers@modot.mo.gov five business days prior to bid closing if submitting hard copy bids. Bids will be received electronically through MissouriBUYS or via mail, UPS, or FedEx.

The specification mandates that door operators meet a minimum one-year manufacturer's warranty and comply with all applicable governmental regulations. Installation must strictly follow manufacturer recommendations and approved shop drawings, with the electrical contractor responsible for running electricity to the operators while the door operator installer handles final connections. Upon completion, contractors must provide three copies of the operation and maintenance manual and demonstrate operational and maintenance procedures to the owner. The specification does not address pricing terms, contract duration, renewal options, or funding sources, as this document serves solely as the technical requirements amendment rather than the complete bid solicitation package.
