About this file
This is Amendment No. 1 to the Invitation for Bid issued by the State of Colorado, Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety for the Champion Mill Stabilization Project (Revised), identified as project number 2017-0297. The amendment clarifies specifications for roof decking fastening and introduces a new bid item for concrete pier installation. The project involves stabilization work on a historic mill structure, including tasks such as stabilizing the upper shed, support trusses and posts, north wall of the lower shed, masonry wall bracing, and repair or replacement of rafters, purlins, roof decking, and metal roofing. Roof decking work totals 5,550 square feet, metal roofing replacement totals 6,660 square feet, and rafter and purlin repair spans 550 linear feet. A pre-bid meeting was held prior to this amendment's issuance on June 29, 2017. The bid submission deadline is 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, and bidders must acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the amendment and submit the revised bid schedule.
The revised bid schedule includes nine base line items with unit pricing requirements and four additional non-guaranteed bid items. Item 14.0, the newly added concrete pier installation task, allows for up to ten concrete piers to be installed as directed by the project manager, with piers measuring twelve inches across both axes and poured to a depth of twenty-four inches, reinforced with #3 rebar cages, and designed to achieve a minimum strength of 3,500 psi. Contractors must submit bids on all line items including lump sum mobilization and demobilization costs, a Project Safety, Health & Environmental Action Plan, and hourly rates for helicopter services and three-person work crews. Payment for concrete piers will be made on a per-unit basis upon completion and project manager approval, with all costs for labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals included in the unit price bid. The bid schedule requires all pages to be returned with all line items completed and no amendments to the schedule itself.
