About this file

This document is a technical specification file for a road resurfacing project issued by the City of Miami Beach Public Works Department. The project involves milling and resurfacing Dade Boulevard between the 17th Street Bridge and 23rd Street, with work to include removing existing asphalt pavement, performing utility adjustments, installing temporary pavement markings, and completing full roadway restoration. The technical specifications provide comprehensive details about the project's scope, including excavation requirements, backfilling procedures, temporary traffic control, erosion control measures, and specific construction sequencing. The document outlines a multi-step construction process that includes verifying site conditions, coordinating with local agencies, establishing maintenance of traffic plans, milling existing surfaces, cleaning and preparing roadways, adjusting utility structures, and installing new asphalt friction course layers.

The technical specifications indicate the project will be funded through municipal infrastructure budgeting, with specific line items for various construction activities such as mobilization, maintenance of traffic, temporary striping, and utility adjustments. The project includes contingency allowances and dedicated funds for items like off-duty police officers, permit fees, and materials testing. The specifications require detailed documentation, including pre-construction photographs, shop drawings, construction schedules, and as-built drawings. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining necessary permits from the City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County, and Florida Department of Transportation, and must comply with extensive technical, safety, and environmental requirements throughout the construction process.
