About this file

This document is a Request for Bids (RFB) from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) for the replacement of the backup generator at the Tuscaloosa State Trooper Post. The RFB includes detailed specifications for a 17-20 KW natural gas generator with a single-phase, 240-volt automatic transfer switch. The contractor will be responsible for the removal of the existing generator, installation of the new generator and transfer switch, all necessary electrical connections, and testing of the new system. The RFB also requires the contractor to maintain safety precautions, acquire all necessary permits, and coordinate the work schedule with ALEA to minimize disruptions to normal business operations. The contract is a turnkey solution, and final payment will be contingent upon successful completion of the scope of work, including training of ALEA personnel.

The RFB specifies that the contractor must have a current Alabama Business License and provide at least three commercial references to demonstrate their qualifications. The contractor will be responsible for all debris removal and any claims against delivery carriers for missing or damaged items. The new generator and transfer switch must come with a standard five-year manufacturer's warranty, and the warranty period will begin upon the successful installation and testing of the new system.
