1. Q. Do the permits allow you to get into the stream to complete the work? A. The permits allow work in the creek, but tracking through the water will be limited as much as possible. A pad can be built with excavated material adjacent to the gabion wall to keep the tracks out of the water.

See construction spec. 5.

3. Q. Will the contractor be held responsible if the house is damaged due to settlement caused by the required excavation? A. The contractor will not be held responsible for any damage to the house caused by the installation of the baskets. Gross negligence by the contractor causing damages will be the responsibility of the contractor.

4. Q. Can you stockpile rock in the driveway? A. Rock can be stockpiled in the driveway. The driveway will have to be returned to the condition prior to construction or better.

5. Q. Can you stockpile material along the creek bank? A. Material can be stock pilled along the creek as long as no large restrictions are left overnight.

6. Q. Is there a spec compaction behind the gabions? A. There will not be any compaction of the backfill behind the gabion wall above what can be achieved with the excavation equipment.

Please refer to the Earth Fill Specification. #23

7. Q. Is there a septic tank in the yard? A. There isn’t any knowledge of a septic tank, but if one exists it will be marked prior to construction.

8. Q. Will the fence have to be reinstalled next to gabion wall? A. The fence will not have to be installed next to the gabion wall, but it will have to be taken down and placed on property if it is present when construction starts.

9. Q. Can we have access through the yard? A. You can come through the yard, but the chain link fence perpendicular to the stream will have to be reinstalled after the work is complete. Any damage to the sidewalk will have to be repaired and the yard graded and seeded.

10. Q. Can any excess material be placed on the streambank to waste it? A. Excess material can be used to reshape any eroded areas of the bank on the property. It may be necessary to have excess material hauled offsite and wasted in an approved area.
