About this file
This is a project drawings and specifications document for Wythe County, Virginia's Ager Park Tennis Court Conversion project. The project scope involves converting two existing tennis courts into three pickleball courts and one full basketball court at Ager Park. The work includes demolition of existing tennis court infrastructure, site preparation, installation of new playing surfaces with specialized coatings, installation of lighting systems, basketball goals, pickleball netting and separation fencing, ADA sidewalks, signage, and miscellaneous site improvements. Key specifications include milling and disposing of 3 inches of existing asphalt, installing VDOT 21A stone compacted to 95% standard Proctor density, priming the stone subgrade, installing 3 inches of Tennis Court mix asphalt, applying two coats of PLUSH Recreational coating in green for perimeter surfaces and blue for playing surfaces, installing white striping on both court types, constructing ADA compliant sidewalks, and professionally cleaning the facility upon completion. The project includes installation of two 30-foot aluminum light poles with 4-240 VAC, 105,000 lumen LED lights, electrical infrastructure including a 400-amp, 1-phase GE panel with NEMA 3R enclosure, and Mega Slam FX PRO basketball goals or equal. New perimeter fencing meeting ASTM F952 and ASTM A392 galvanized steel specifications, pickleball separation fencing, and tournament-grade portable netting complete the scope.
The project drawings and specifications provide comprehensive technical requirements including detailed fence and gate designs, light pole specifications with foundation requirements, electrical schematic diagrams, typical court sections, sidewalk construction details, and underdrain system specifications. All materials are subject to approval by Wythe County staff, with shop drawings and cut sheets required for purchased items. The contractor is responsible for all construction debris removal and professional site cleaning to ensure immediate facility use upon project completion. Coordination with the Town of Wytheville is required for permits and regulations. The electrical work must comply with NEMA 3R water-resistant standards, with all components subject to inspection and testing before punch list generation and final closeout.
