Northern California Service Center Ops Building Roof Replacement

Questions and Answers as 6/20/2017

1. Are general contractors allowed to bid this project?

Yes, general contractors are allowed to bid as long as their subcontractor has valid roofing license.

2. What is the Schedule A and Schedule B.....B has Roof Deck Fire Rating - Class A included? Do you want the contractor to split roof deck (plywood) repairs? And this wouldn't be included in Schedule A.....A would have all but cost of deck repairs?

No, don’t split the roof deck repairs. Class A fire rating means putting an underlayment or something on the roof deck to make the roof a Class A fire rated system over a noncombustible deck. If the foam system is placed on the plywood deck, only the foam is Class A, but the deck is a combustible deck, making it a Class B fire rated roof.
