Parks Creek Road Ditch Cleaning

Questions and Answers as of 4/21/2017

1. Please define scope of Work Item No.s 20401 and 30101: (Cannot find in bid documents the following)

• Size of Disposal sites

• Number of Disposal sites

• Location of Disposal sites

There is one designated disposal site at approximately 9.5 mile post. It is more than large enough to accommodate all of the material.

2. For Bid Item No.s 30301 and 40301 there is a foot note “Denotes Actual Quantity”, please clarify what that means. The quantity shown on the bid form is the final pay quantity?

The quantity listed in the schedule of items is an estimate. The final pay will be based on the actual quantity.

3. For Bid Item No. 63501, it is not clear in the specification that flaggers will be needed or just signage for traffic control, please clarify.

Please assume it could be done just with signage.

4. When will amendment 1 be posted on FBO?

There was a glitch in FBO. Amendment 2 in FBO is actually Amendment 1. The purpose of amendment was to change start date. There is only one amendment at this time for you to return with your proposal.

5. Is the Ditch cleaning portion of the contract for the whole road?

Yes it is for the full 23 miles of roadway. See Section C of the solicitation.

6. Is the start date a hard date or can the project be started earlier to take advantage of warmer temperatures?

The start date has been changed to start on July 15th. Look at Section C of the Solicitation.

7. Regarding scope of Item No.20401 . Is the intension of this item of work to grade and compact piles of debris from ditch cleaning at the disposal site?

The intension is to stockpile the material at one location. The disposal pile has to be shaped to drain. The only compactive effort needed is running equipment over it.

8. Regarding scope of Item No. 30101. Due to snow, the disposal site is not accessible for measurement to calculate the amount of Aggregate Base required to cover disposal site. Will you please give site dimensions or change item from lump sum to cubic yards or tons?

The amount of material is unknown. It has to be enough to cover the stockpile, not the total disposal site. Bid as is.

9. Is there a water source for this project?
