Questions:
1. The Smokey Bear PDF counts do not match the Schedule of Items, for instance items 1, 2, and 4 differ in quantity. Which is correct?
2. I am having difficulty matching the Guadlupe signs with the Schedule of Items. The word document has images of signs, then refers to an item number which does not match the type of sign. Can the document be reworked to match the Schedule of Items?
Answer: This is a duplicate previous published statement
Fabrication of Lincoln National Forest Trail and ARRA Project Signs
Solicitation Number: AG-9702-S-09-0002
Following the initial posting of the Fabrication of Lincoln National Forest Trail and ARRA Project Sign solicitation there has been some confusion in regards to the actual number and types of signs that are required. To avoid confusion and ensure that all bidders are basing their quotes on the same package, we request that all bids be in response to the items as they are listed in the Schedule of Items. Attachments 1-3 are to be used as a quick visual reference to give reviewers a general sense of how the signs will read.
Once the contract has been awarded the Lincoln National Forest will work with the contractor and provide revised documents showing the actual wording that will go on the signs. As the Forest is still working on their trail program it is possible that adjustments in sign quantities may be necessary before an actual contract is signed. Adjustments would be made to the contract accordingly.
Questions:
Can you please tell me the thickness of the plywood?
Also, please confirm that the signs are only on sided.
Answers:
Chapter 5 and 14 in EM-7100-15 Sign and Poster Guidelines for the Forest Service, which is where the other link would take them, I put the links below. Should work for anyone, I got there through Google.

These questions are in regards to the Section on the Smokey Bear Ranger District.
#1 What substrate are item # 1- # 6 on?
#2 Is line #4 supposed to be a RSE sign?
#3 Does Line Item #1 require 1" letters?
Answers:
#1 What substrate are item # 1- # 6 on? Items 1-6 on the Schedule of Items are all Wilderness signs and all signs within the Wilderness need to be on oak. In reality I don't think all of the signs are in Wilderness and could be put on solid plywood so it would be helpful to have costs comparisons for the different substrates.
#2 Is line #4 supposed to be a RSE sign? I think item #4 is just a TD sign on oak for Wilderness.
#3 Does Line Item #1 require 1" letters?
Answers:
There are minimal standards for grade, they don't need to supply costs for grades that do not meet our standard. Our minimal standard is clear, grade 1 and I'm not sure if there is a grade better than that or not.
