Solicitation No. AG-95CV-S-11-0003, Amendment 02 Insectary Greenhouse, Parlier, CA Questions & Answers from Site Visit and E-mail, to date

1. Mechanical controls – Do they have to interface controllers in the Insectary lab or other greenhouse bays (GH01-GH06)?

Each grow room DDC controller is a stand-alone, microprocessor-based environmental controller with internal RS-485 interface for connection to computer system.

1. Vestibule – Will it be floating or permanent once the greenhouse size is finalized?

Permanent.

1. Requested to clarify construction schedule:

2. Proposals due Apr. 4, 2011. Offers are valid for 60 days

2. Once construction begins, A-E anticipates work to take 3.5 months. The entire contract period is 150 days, once Notice to Proceed is issued.

2. Last day for questions from bidders – March 28, 2011.

1. Site grading - Is there a place to move dirt to? Not on site.

1. Site grading – Only Phase III or inclusive of Phase III, IV and V? (LS will find out) Site grading work for Phase III does not include site grading work for Phases IV and V.

1. Environmental control (e.g. Micro-Grow or Wadsworth)? Rough Brothers specs? Environmental control system shall be Growmaster Procom by Micro Grow Greenhouse Controls, or equivalent.

5. Is there a need to connect to a central controlling system through a pc for programming and monitoring?

YES, through a central PC location. Refer to specification 23 09 53.00 20 and coordinate with USDA for the central PC.

1. Corridor size vs vestibule location question arose again.

The corridor and the vestibule are each 10’-0” wide.

1. Will bid be selected on basis of base bid or deductions?

The award will go to the Best Value to the Government, taking non-price factors and price into consideration. All prices: base, deductive and additives, will be considered relative to the funding available.

1. Where is the site for the diesel back generator? See Sheet E3.1A.

1. Where are connects for utilities (water, gas, electricity, etc.)? Contractors saw stub outs from the insectary building.

Refer to Phase II P2.1 drawing for domestic cold water, gas and sanitary sewer connection stub-out.

1. Contractor needs access and location for an office but two temporary buildings block access from the northwest. What is the status?

The two buildings are temporary and will be removed before construction begins.

1. Do you want grey, smooth block on the masonry, or a full range of colors and textures as the specs say? Grey smooth block is fine.

1. Are all homeruns underground?

Page E02_01A shows that majority of the power homeruns are coming from the EM panel. Looking at the homerun symbol signifies as if it is supposed to be concealed in wall or ceiling. Page E03_04A shows underground conduits for the panels and the equipment only. Just wanted to make sure that the symbols were true and accurate.

Use underground conduit for homerun and equipment.

1. If so, Are these greenhouse buildings able to be penetrated?

The greenhouse should be concealed. No penetration allowed.

1. What type of metal or material is the mounted strut channel being attached to on the greenhouse? Use RGS strut.

1. Are the underground conduit radius’s PVC or R.G.S.?

Some details show we have to use R.G.S. and other details show we can use P.V.C. radius.

Underground conduit radius shall be PVC and above ground conduit shall be RGS.
