SWITZER’S PICNIC AREA RECREATION SITE IMPROVEMENTS

AMENDMENT 06

LIST OF CHANGES

AMENDED DRAWING REVISIONS:

SHEET 03 – Modified the description for the location of the new ENTRANCE SIGN to reflect existing conditions (existing rock & mortar base with approximate dimensions of 7.5’x2.5’ and existing 3” diameter metal tube posts for proposed installation). Modified the description of the EXISTING METAL GATE, so that new paint matches existing paint.

SHEET 04 – Modified GENERAL NOTE 2 to reflect additional asphalt demolition and deep-patching.

SHEET 05 – Modified the description for the two new single-unit restroom buildings to reflect the through-screen configuration and the solar-powered vent stacks.

SHEET 06 – Modified New Accessible Picnic Area (Site A) Detail 2A to reflect necessary accessibility requirements for handrails. Added more new striping at New Accessible Restroom (Area 2) Detail 5.

SHEET 07 – Modified C.M.U. Step Retaining Wall & Concrete Step Footings to reflect needed “Step” re-configuration. Modified all railing posts to reflect accessibility requirements. Modified wood posts from 6”x6” to 8”x8”.

SHEET 08 – Modified all railing posts to reflect accessibility requirements. Modified wood posts from 6”x6” to 8”x8”.

SHEET 09 – Modified all handrail details to reflect accessibility requirements, including stair handrail 12” extensions. Modified all railing posts to reflect accessibility requirements. Modified wood posts from 6”x6” to 8”x8”. Modified GENERAL NOTE 2 to reflect accessibility requirements for handrails.

SHEET 10 – Modified Detail “Numbers” to reflect re-configured Details on SHEET 11.

SHEET 11 – Made the following Detail adjustments:

· Modified Detail “Numbers” to reflect re-configured Details.

· Modified Detail 2 to reflect necessary accessibility requirements for handrails, including handrail 12” extensions and 12” floor extension/ surface edge protection at both sides.

· Deleted previous details for retaining wall and replaced them with Details 3 (Retaining Wall Section), 4 (Retaining Wall Step Footing), 5 (Retaining Wall Elevation), & 6 (Retaining Wall Bond Beam) based on re-configured wall requirements.

· Modified Detail 8 to reflect modified concrete walkway width from 4’-0” to 5’-7½“. Modified

· Modified Detail 16 to reflect “Keyed” embedding configuration of inner and outer stone layers, per FP-03 Section 251.05.

· Modified Detail 18 to reflect Entrance Sign Installation Details, based on existing conditions (existing rock & mortar base with approximate dimensions of 7.5’x2.5’ and existing 3” diameter metal tube posts for proposed installation).

AMENDED SPECIFICATION REVISIONS:

TABLE OF CONTENTS – Modified the Section requirements, based on the newly inserted specification sections below.

SECTION 01010 – Modified the Statement of Work (1.01) to reflect accessibility requirements. Added statement (3.03) addressing accessibility requirements.

SECTION 01060 – Added accessibility requirements 1.02 B, Lines 9 and 10 to include Forest Service Outdoor Recreation Accessibility Guidelines (FSORAG) and Forest Service Trails Accessibility Guidelines (FSTAG).

SECTION 05720 – Added TUBE HANDRAIL requirements based on missing information for handrails in the Schedule of Items.

SECTION 13121 – Modified terminology in 2.01 from “ADA” to “Accessible” to reflect accessibility requirements.

AMENDED SCHEDULE OF ITEMS:

Various ITEM NO.’s – Modified the ESTIMATED QUANTITIES according to re-calculated values, after amending the drawings.

ITEM NO. 02224-K – Added “perforated” to the drain pipe line item.

ITEM NO. 02224-L – Added line item to repaint existing metal gate at entrance.

ITEM NO. 02520-B – Eliminated line item pertaining to Geotextile Fabric, which is not in the contract.

ITEM NO. 02660-C/D – Eliminated line item pertaining to furnishing & installing water hydrant assemblies, which are referenced in ITEM NO. 02084 A & B.

ITEM NO. 05720 – Added line items for aluminum tube accessible railing and handrails for Accessible Site A and for Staircases, to adequately meet accessibility requirements.

ITEM NO. 13121 – Changed previous line items (from two line items to three) to separate restrooms in the UPPER PARKING LOT (13121-A), the MAIN PICNIC AREAS (13121-B), and LOWER PICNIC AREAS (13121-C). Note: The two single-unit restroom buildings at LOWER PICNIC AREAS shall have “Through-Screens” and shall have solar-powered vent stacks.
