Question No. 1: How many miles or what percentage of the contract is not accessible by pickup or ATV and how far beyond the last Vehicle/ATV access point would we have to back pack to reach the end?

Answer: There no firm figure on how many miles will be accessible by truck or ATV and how many are not. Most of the road will be accessible by truck or ATV. The distance beyond the last truck or ATV access point that will have to be sprayed will vary by road.

There are some instances where the entire road or a majority of the road won’t be accessible by truck or ATV and will have to be sprayed with backpack or pack animal.

Question No. 2: Is transline still going to be the main herbicide used or is brownout not an issued?

Answer: Clopyralid (Transline/Stinger/Curtail) and Aminopyralid (Milestone) will be the main herbicides used, but there will be instances where other herbicides will be needed.

Specification number 3 on page 9 of the solicitation addresses the need for changing herbicides if required.

Question No. 3: There are no PDR specifications in the solicitation; can it be assumed that inventory polygons as well as treatment polygons will be required on all weed populations?

Answer: Yes, inventory polygons as well as treatment polygons will be required. Where inventory polygons already exist, they will be loaded into the PDR issued to the Contractor.

Question No. 4: Common Tansy is going to be a problem if Transline is being used in those areas. Are you going to require two applications in those areas where transline is used to prevent brownout, but transy exists which will required different chemicals?

Answer: In areas where there is Common Tansy or other noxious weeks that require a different herbicide for treatment, the Contractor will have to change herbicides. On page

9 of the solicitation, specification number 3 address this issued, stating that treatment area often required changing herbicides to be effective on the weeds present.
