Text version

On project ending in S-10-0201:

1. Specification 16800-3 calls out “Batteries (not to be used)”. But, sheet 6 or 8 calls out for 100 watt Luminare and Hubble switch. Is the light supposed to run at night? If so, we believe the system needs batteries. Do we have an anticipated run-time for the light? There is no need for the light to run at night.

2. A big-picture question: Since the stainless well pump is solar powered (12-30VDc), the chemical pump is 12VDC powered (page 11260-2), and the light and switch could easily be DC powered, is there really a need for the large (expensive) inverter and the large (expensive) mini power center with AC power panel (page 16800-5)? The power consumption from the large inverter alone will force an up-sizing of the solar panels. If AC power is needed at the site for unknown uses, can you give us a total load so that we can size the solar system? Total load is covered in Section 16800 pages 3 through 5. We need a 30 amp main and a 15 amp GFCI for the outlet.

3. Sheet 6 of 8 calls out for chemical metering pump (12VDC) to be plugged into a 110VAC GFCI. I do not believe that combination is viable. The outlet is in proximity to the GFCI, but does not plug into it.

Q – What is the weight of the concrete building furnished by the CO? I need to know so I can provide equipment to lift and place.

A – Per section 13121 of the specifications, Part 3: Execution, the fabricator of the building will provide the crane to off load the building from the transport to the contractor prepared site.
