AG-6633-S-14-0004, Amendment 001, Attachment 1:

Questions (Q) and Answers (A) from the site visit on 6/26/14 are provided below.

Q: Olson Dam: If we put gravel on the access road, can it stay?

A: Yes.

Q: Are there other routes to Olson?

A: Yes, but we are providing the required route to be used by all Contractors.

Q: Bourbanis Dam: Excavation line item – who’s doing the survey?

A: NRCS is, but the Contractor is welcome to survey if they’d care to check our work.

Q: Will NRCS provide CAD topographic survey information used for payment determinations?

A: Yes.

Q: Is the Contractor required to provide as-builts?

A: No, that’s NRCS responsibility.

Q: Do we have to find a place for off-site disposal?

A: Yes. We have provided possible sources for materials, and some of those sites may be willing to accept waste materials, but none are endorsed or mandated by NRCS.

Q: Fill material at Olson: Do we have to use material from Bourbanis?

A: The Contractor may propose a substitute borrow source for earthfill on Olson Dam, subject to approval by NRCS.

Q: Was the area between the two repair sites at Bourbanis figured into the 5 acre estimate for seeding?

A: Yes, in fact both the seeding and clear/grubbing areas were conservatively estimated.

Q: Access in to Bourbanis – how wide is the easement? Is the easement over private land or is it a township road?

A: The roads to both sites are public roads owned by South Olga Township. The easement width is 66 feet (33 feet either side of the centerline).

Q: Is it ok to chip the trees instead of removing?

A: We will consider a proposal for that.

Q: OK to leave the stumps of the trees that are cleared at the top of the slope at the Bourbanis site?

A: Yes, stumps will only need to be removed when they are overhanging the slope and in the center area to be excavated.

Q: Access in to Bourbanis site – what is the distance from the bottom of the hill up to the work site so we can calculate how much gravel would be required.

A: See drawing, Attachment 2 to this Amendment for that information.

Q: Is it okay to limb trees along the road into the sites?

A: Yes, it is recognized that will be necessary for the project.

Q: Is the easement wide enough to provide a stockpile area near the end of the graveled portion of the road?

A: The easement width is 66 feet (33 feet either side of the centerline).

Q: Can we get the names of the landowners, in case we need to contact them?

A: For Bourbanis, the landowners are as follows. Refer to Attachment 2 for specific locations:

Donald & Marilyn Denault 13783 Hwy 5 Cavalier, ND 58220 701-265-3772

S. Meredith & Susan Clark PO Box 148 Cavalier, ND 58220 701-265-8141
