Answers/Changes from Questions Raised During 5/14/09 Site Visit:
1. On sheet 3 of 13, the North Anchor / Tower Plan view, regarding the clarification for the extent of the rip-rap near the retaining wall, the rip-rap can be placed such that it meets the estimated 14 cubic yards (covering approx. 250 square feet) estimated quantity. The note on that detail states "Final location and depth to be approved by the FS". That being said, though not shown on the plans, the rip-rap should extend to the base of the birch tree north of the East-West aligned rock wall. The rip-rap won't extend more than 10' west of the North-South aligned wing-wall (located north of the aforementioned East-West aligned rock wall).
2. Re: revised SOI and the drawings:
· Sheet 6 of 13 of the drawings should indicate one more 12" pier & post immediately east of the two spliced posts on the south side of the stairs, west half of the stairs (couldn't fit it in between the "S" & the "1" circled symbols).
· The minimum number of 12" pier & post should be 13 (not 12 as shown on the drawings).
3. On sheet 10 of 13, regarding observation platform #2, "Replace lower platform" should actually be a reference to Observation platform #3.
4. An ATV and trailer used to transport the rocks across the bridge must not excess a gross weight of 2000lb without FS approval.
