INSTRUCTIONS
1. Take a systematic sample plot at the rate of one per acre with its smallest dimension equal to the largest spacing distance plus 10%. (Radius 1/100 acre plot – 11’9.3”).
2. Tally all planted seedlings within the plot (Column 2).
Tally all seedlings improperly planted within the plot (Column 3).
3. Total Columns 2 and 3.
4. Compute:
a. Number of seedlings planted per acre:
Total Column 2 _________x 100 = ________( __________minimum, _________maximum)
Total Number Plots ______________.
(NOTE: Minimum = Prescribed Number and Maximum = 10% over minimum)
b. Number of seedlings per acre improperly planted:
Total column 3 ________x 100 = ____________.
Total number plots __________________.
c. Number of seedlings per acre properly planted (a minus b) = ____________ 1/
5. Payment deductions, if any:
If excessive seedlings planted, show computation for deduction:
* ___________ = (Number seedlings planted per acre)
-____________ = (Maximum allowed per acre --- 110% of prescribed number)
____________ = (Difference x ________________ = __________________
(No. Acres Planted) (Total Excess Seedlings)
@ $_____________per M = __________________
(Enter Under No. 2 on Reverse)
* NOTE – If replanting is necessary, add number of seedlings per acre used in replanting to number per acre planted originally to arrive at a total number per acre actually planted. Then, if this total exceeds the maximum allowed per acre (110%) of prescribed number, or _____________ per acre, make the deduction as indicated above.
1/ Accept area as satisfactorily planted if at least 90% of the seedlings planted per acre are satisfactorily planted (_________________per acre).
