Energy Retrofit and Renovations GMNF Manchester Ranger District Office – Phase 2 Solicitation AG-1681-S-17-0036 Clarifications from Pre-Bid Meeting July 28th, 20
1) In the solicitation document there is a Schedule of Items and in the specifications there is a Bid Form. Which one should be filled out and submitted for the bid? The Schedule of Items in the solicitation document is required to be filled out. Also, see updated Specifications attachment 1
2) The Schedule of Items in the solicitation has a bid bond of 5% required, but the Bid Form in the specification has a bid bond of 20% required. Which is it? There is a 20% bid bond required as specified in the solicitation document, the 5% requirement in the specifications has been deleted in the attached new solicitation attachment 1.
3) The solicitation stats the bid bond has to be mailed, but what about the rest of the bid package? Can that be emailed or does that have to be hardcopy? Can it be emailed and mailed with a date stamp? The bid bond MUST be an original and mailed and received no later than the time due for proposals which is 2:00 pm 08/18/2017 but the rest of the proposal can be emailed to azero@fs.fed.us
4) The field office to be provided by the contractor for a public visitor area specified in Section 01520 of the specifications is not required and is not to be included in the contract or bid.
5) On the south side of the building the Plans on Sheet L1.01 call for the new 4” diameter under drain to be connected into the existing 4” diameter underdrain. At the pre-bid meeting it was asked if the slope and elevation change would be sufficient for the underdrain to function correctly while connecting into the existing line. The contractor shall run the new 4” diameter under drain as shown on the plans. If the new drain does not line up with the existing under drain, the contractor shall modify the existing under drain daylight pipe to facilitate adequate drainage of the under drain. This may include, but is not limited to, connecting and lowering the daylight outlet pipe, cutting and patching asphalt over the existing daylight pipe, backfilling and compacting the subbase, and resetting the outlet drainage stone.
6) Optional Bid Item 2 has been modified. See updated plan for Option 2, new attach 4.
