4. Requests for Information (RFIs), RFI-001 to RFI-006

RFI-001: Can we offer ambulances that licensed in Idaho, Montana, & Wyoming?

Response: Yes – But make sure the resource adheres to the 450 mile limitation as outlined under D.5.1 – Host Dispatch Center location.

RFI-002: We are currently in the process of preparing additional state ambulance licensure applications. If we receive an anward for ambulances can we add additional state licensure documents as they are receieved.

Response: Yes you can add additional licensures but not additional ambulances.

RFI-003: Clarify – IF an ambulance has a patient encounter at 11:00 in which it is determined that the patient needs to be air lifted and the ambulance transports the patient 1.5 miles to the landing zone and is back in service at 12:00 until the end of the assigned shift, how would the shift ticket be filled out and what would the payment be for that day?

Response: Being that this is not a patient transport to a hospital the ambulance would continue counting all time as on-shift time and would incur no deduction from the Daily Rate.

RFI-004: Page 4, under Required Submittals, it states “While working under a contract on wildlind fire, the individual must have a copy of the protocols, license, and credentials from their home Medical Director with them.” Please clarify what is meant by “license and credentials from their home Medical Director?”

Response: The individual must carry with them, and have in their possesion, while on an assignment the EMT or Paramedic licence and credentials and also all protocols that have been issued by their home Medical Director.

RFI-005: Are ambulances required to have an annual DOT Inspection?

Response: You must abide by the requirements of the state that has licensed the ambulance.
