The project consists of the repair of an existing four-span bridge consisting of two main
175’ truss spans and two shorter timber approach spans. The overall span of the bridge is approximately 397 feet. Repairs to the existing bridge substructure and superstructure are required in order to re-open the bridge to public traffic. Improvements consist of, but are not limited to: removing unsound concrete, repairing the deteriorated concrete pier caps and patching the foundation spalls, tightening of the upper steel lateral bracing, and placement of riprap at the center pier. The repair of the center pier will require a jacking/shoring system to remove the weight of the truss superstructure in order to repair the pier cap.
The bridge is located on Forest Service Road No. 105 at the North Fork of the Clearwater
River crossing at milepost 25.0. The project is located approximately 34 miles northeast of Pierce in the North Fork Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests, in Clearwater County, Idaho (Section 15, Township 38 N, Range 8 E). Refer to the location map on the title sheet of the plans.
