About this file
This document is an advertisement for mechanical-electrical design services related to the Phifer Hall Chiller Replacement project for Western Piedmont Community College in Burke County, North Carolina. The project requires designing a system to replace the current air-cooled chiller system and associated equipment, including outlining the DDC controls integration with the existing WPCC system. The scope of work includes assessing the current system, developing options for improved service, creating drawings for the desired solution, generating the scope of work and bidding documents, providing construction monitoring and inspections, issuing any necessary addenda, and delivering close-out documents and prints. The work should also evaluate the feasibility of a spare chill water pump and the advantages of tying into the WPCC's current systems or developing a stand-alone unit. Interested firms must submit one copy of a Letter of Interest and one copy of their current Standard Form 254 by June 13, 2024. The selection will be based on factors such as relevant expertise, past performance, staffing, current workload, design approach, cost and schedule experience, construction administration capabilities, and familiarity with the local area. The project budget is to be determined and will be funded by county (local) funds.
