About this file

This document is an Addendum No. 2 issued by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Administration Division of Procurement and Contracts for Invitation for Bid (IFB) #56A0825 regarding the installation of Gazex Remote Avalanche Control (RAC) equipment in Alpine and El Dorado Counties. The project requires the contractor to provide all labor, equipment, tools, traffic control, permits, travel, and incidentals necessary for the installation/replacement, removal, and legal disposal of the Gazex RAC system, which includes 1.5m and 3m cannons. The project will be conducted in Caltrans Districts 3 and 10 in mountainous terrain, and helicopter-assisted construction techniques are required.

The addendum addresses questions received regarding the project, including clarification on the size of the existing cannons being replaced and the allowable expenditures for parts, materials, and supplies, which are limited to 5% of the actual subtotal amount. All other terms and conditions set forth in the original IFB remain in full force and effect.
