About this file
This document is an Addendum Three to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services Division of Engineering and Contract Administration for ADA Door Modifications at the Department of Criminal Justice Training Funderburk Building in Richmond, Kentucky. The Addendum provides clarifications and changes to the original bid documents dated August 5, 2022, including acceptance of experienced contractors for firestopping, no field testing requirement for penetration firestopping unless directed, and allowance for surface-mounted raceway on existing walls. The Addendum also addresses the project schedule, requiring the selected contractor to submit a schedule within three weeks of award, with the ability to revise the schedule based on confirmed equipment lead times.
The ITB does not provide details on pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding sources, or other salient commercial information. The focus of this Addendum is on technical and scheduling clarifications to the original bid scope.

ADDENDUM NO. 3 1
ADDENDUM NO. 3– November 22, 2022
This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original Bidding Documents dated August 5, 2022.
Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the Proposal Form. Failure to do so may subject the Proposal to rejection.
The following items clarify, modify, change, delete from or add to the Contract Documents. When any paragraph, subparagraph, or sub-subparagraph thereof is modified or deleted by this Addendum, the unaltered provisions of that paragraph, subparagraph, sub-subparagraph shall remain in effect.
CLARIFICATIONS TO WORK SCOPE:
1. Reference Specification Section 078413 "Firestopping", 1.5, A. "Installer
Qualifications". In lieu of "A firm that has been approved by FM Approval", will the design team accept experienced contractors who provide references of completed firestopping patching projects including those inspected for compliance?
Response: This is acceptable
2. Will penetration firestopping tests be required as specified? If so, will all penetrations require testing?
Response: Firestopping at penetrations will not require field testing unless directed by Authority Having Jurisdiction; however, contractor shall ensure that the assembly requirements listed in Article 2.2 Penetration
Firestopping Systems are included within the Product Data in the submittal for design team review and approval.
3. How are existing walls that have wall paper finish, that are required to have new devices installed on them, to be repaired.
Response: Repair and patching of existing wall paper will not be required.
Contractor shall patch and repair finish of wall to maximum extent possible. Walls where existing wall paper must be replaced or repaired will be addressed on an individual location basis as a change order to this project or under a separate finish repair project.
4. Time allowed for the project in the bid documents does not allow for procurement of long lead items.
Response: Within three weeks of project award, the selected contractor will be required to submit a project schedule. This schedule shall comply with the bid documents and identify critical path issues. Once submittals have been received and approved and lead times have been confirmed, if

lead times received from manufacturers for critical items require a revision to the critical path of the project schedule, contractor will then issue a request to revise the schedule, based upon the actual lead times received.
5. Is it acceptable to use surface mounted raceway on existing masonry or poured concrete walls.
Response: Where new devices are shown to be installed on existing masonry or poured concrete walls, raceway and outlet boxes for wiring and new devices may be provided as surface mounted raceway, in order to avoid cutting and patching of existing masonry and concrete.
