About this file
This is Addendum Three to Invitation to Bid No. RFB-222-26 issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, for golf course irrigation work at Kentucky Dam Village Department of Parks in Gilbertsville, Kentucky. The addendum addresses seven clarification questions submitted by bidders regarding electrical specifications, panel configurations, feeder requirements, and equipment placement for the irrigation system upgrade project. Key clarifications include confirmation that the 85-foot conduit run limitation applies only to interior runs, that the 25-amp, 2-pole circuit breaker sizing in the panel schedule is correct despite discrepancies in conductor notation, that existing circuits must be fully reconnected to the new Panel PRL-1, and that the electrical contractor's scope is limited to work shown on electrical sheets and pump house work only. Load calculations have been performed with feeder and conductor sizes to be determined per National Electrical Code standards.
The addendum confirms that the electrical contractor scope does not include irrigation control wiring or equipment associated with Toro/Rainbird irrigation systems, which fall outside the stated electrical scope of work. Pull box sizing is to be based on Quazite (Hubbell) or equivalent products, with detailed sizing specifications and plans provided in the contract documents. The addendum indicates that Panel PRL-2, a 400-amp unit, requires replacement in its entirety as shown on the Demolition One-Line Diagram and New Work One-Line Diagram contained in sheet E-200. All bidders are required to conform to the changes outlined in this addendum, which become binding upon contract issuance.

Addendum Three Questions and Answers
Question 1: Confirm junction boxes shall be installed so that conduit runs do not exceed 85' (Electrical spec 260533-7 note 3E). Please provide required specs for pull boxes shown in detail 5 sheet E-200.
Answer: 85’ reference is noted for interior conduit runs and not applicable for exterior ducts. Refer to specifications and plans for details on pull box sizing. Basis of design is Quazite (Hubbell), or equal.
Question 2: Confirm feeder requirements for Smart Hub #1 and #2 as indicated on the PRL-1 panel schedule (sheet E-200), specifically (10) runs of 2-#500, 1-#500, and 1-#500.
Answer: Refer to irrigation control requirements. The size of the conductor is not correct in the panel schedule as it is assuming a high voltage drop conversion. The Circuit is correct at 25 Amp, 2 Pole as noted.
Question 3: Confirm whether panel PRL-2 (400A) is to be replaced in its entirety or if scope is limited to breaker replacement.
Answer: Refer to Demolition One-Line Diagram and New Work One-Line Diagram on E-200.
Question 4: Confirm that the pump control panel location is adjacent to the pump station as shown on sheet PD-1
Answer: Refer to drawings for room layout. Contractor to confirm placement as noted.
Question 5: Sheet E-200 does not appear to include a feeder schedule for the new electrical equipment shown on the one-line. Please confirm whether a load calculation has been performed and whether feeder and conductor sizes have been determined. If so, please provide required feeder sizes and raceway sizes for bidding purposes.
Answer: Refer to Demolition One-Line Diagram and New Work One-Line Diagram on E-
200. Load calculations have been prepared and size to be per NEC.
Question 6: Drawings indicate replacement of panel PRL-1; however, reconnection of existing circuits is not clearly defined. Please confirm EC scope includes full reconnection of existing circuits.
Answer: Correct, existing circuit to be reconnected on new Panel. Refer to E-200.
Question 7: Confirm EC scope is limited to work shown on E sheets and pump house only, and does not include irrigation control wiring or equipment associated with Toro/Rainbird systems.
Answer: Refer to Section 260502 – Scope of Electrical Work. Refer to plans and specifications including irrigation documents.
